I'm working my other job as tech support, and this week we've had a major system outage. Unfortunately, all of our developers are on vacation this week, so I've had to learn how to manage technical issues and calm users down all by my lonesome. Unlike the eight, I'm not proud of my work. Instead, I'd like a new career. If you're looking for a sign to switch careers the Eight of Pentacles is it! The Eight is a skilled craftsperson or apprentice. It could represent a student completing his or her PhD, a hobbyist finishing a project, or a laborer completing a daily task.

Whether you are the giver or the receiver will depend on where you are in your life, but in either situation the six is about generosity and favors. Six of Pentacles combinations With The Sun: "Sharing is caring." When you give of yourself, you are rewarded with joy and success. With Seven of Wands: Don't give up before your efforts are rewarded. The Five of Pentacles is about poverty, worry, and insecurity, it's also about looking out for opportunities to break free. In most Tarot depictions, one or two poor souls hobble outside in the darkness, but need only look up to see the light beaming out from a welcoming place. The five warns us to change from a mindset of scarcity to gratitude. If you're feeling kind of impoverished today - the Applied Tarot book is now available on Kindle! While it's lower-priced than the paperback, there is a 5 of Pentacles caution that reading references manuals on Kindle isn't the easiest thing to do... but all the same content is there when you need it! Today is my birthday, so I treated myself to a re-watch of Hunt for the Wilderpeople. For US readers, it's new on Netflix in October 2020. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Not only is it directed by the incomparable Taika Waititi, but it's the perfect "5 of Pentacles to 10 of Pentacles" (like rags to riches, but with Tarot) story of an unstable boy and a depressed man struggling to push through difficult circumstances, and finding love and stability in the end. The Five of Pentacles appears daunting and ominous, but there is opportunity in this card as well. The impoverished person who is stuck outside in the cold need only to look around, and will see a light shining from a warm, secure, and welcoming place for the night.
The five is about looking for these opportunities when you are feeling unstable. It is also about changing from a mindset of scarcity to gratitude. Questions answered by Five of Pentacles: Who?
